Abstract

This article assesses the transport-operational and environmental indicators of the 3.2 km At-Termiziy Green Urban Transport Corridor in Termez using baseline surveys from 2023 and repeated field observations from 2026. The study applies an uncontrolled before-after design combining video counts at eight traffic nodes, GPS runs in both directions, passenger-exchange counts at 12 stops, and 626 hours of indicative air monitoring at four sites. The aggregated observation mass across the eight nodes was 168,500 PCU/day, of which private cars accounted for 87.1%—roughly eight times lower than the comparable Tashkent study (1,349,862 PCU/day), consistent with Termez's substantially smaller urban scale. Mean bus speed increased by 4.0% and 9.6% by direction, while private-car speed increased by 14.9% and 23.2%. Five key stops accounted for 63.3% of 9,836 boarding-alighting events. Average PM2.5, PM10, NO2, CO, and SO2 values were below the technical report reference values; however, limitations related to sensor type, calibration, and averaging period preclude firm conclusions on regulatory compliance or causality.
