Abstract

This article explores the development of intercultural communicative competence among philology students through the teaching of English, focusing specifically on lexical connotation. It emphasizes the role of connotative meanings of words as a gateway to understanding cultural nuances and enhancing communication skills in a foreign language. The study highlights effective pedagogical strategies for incorporating lexical connotation into language instruction, aiming to prepare students for real-life intercultural interactions. This approach contributes to a deeper cultural awareness and linguistic sensitivity, essential for philologists in today's globalized world
