Blood transfusion therapy is one of the most important therapeutic methods in modern medicine, playing a crucial role in saving patients’ lives and managing severe pathological conditions. This article analyzes the clinical significance of transfusion therapy, its main areas of application, and the modern approaches used in clinical practice. The study examines the effectiveness of using donor blood and its components, their therapeutic effects on the patient’s body, and the potential risks associated with transfusion procedures. Particular attention is paid to immunological compatibility testing, biological cross-matching, and preventive measures aimed at reducing transfusion-related complications. The analysis demonstrates that component-based transfusion therapy is safer and more effective compared with whole blood transfusion. The use of erythrocyte mass, platelets, and plasma allows rapid stabilization of patients’ clinical conditions. The findings confirm the significant role of transfusion therapy in modern clinical practice and highlight the importance of applying scientifically based transfusion protocols.
