This research work investigates the role of World War II in shaping modern literary thought and its lasting influence on world literature. The study analyzes how the war transformed literary themes, narrative techniques, and philosophical perspectives in the twentieth century and beyond. Special attention is given to the representation of trauma, human suffering, moral crisis, identity, alienation, and the destruction caused by war in literary works. The research also explores the emergence of existentialism, realism, modernism, and postmodernism as important literary movements influenced by wartime experiences. The study employs comparative, historical, and analytical methods to evaluate the connection between historical events and literary development. The findings reveal that World War II became a turning point in modern literature, encouraging writers to reconsider human values, freedom, ethics, and the meaning of existence.
