This article highlights the importance of pedagogical technologies based on active games in the formation of physical culture of 11-12 year old schoolchildren. The pedagogical potential of active games in the formation of physical qualities, social activity and healthy lifestyle of students is analyzed. Also, methodological aspects of the selection, organization and use of games are substantiated
