In modern education, the development of learner autonomy has become one of the most important aims of English language teaching. Today, students are expected not only to receive knowledge from teachers but also to take responsibility for their own learning process. Digital tools create wide opportunities for independent learning, self-assessment, communication, and continuous language practice. The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of digital tools in developing learner autonomy in English language education. The study is based on qualitative analysis of pedagogical literature and modern classroom practices. It examines the use of online platforms, mobile applications, digital dictionaries, video resources, and interactive learning tools in supporting students’ independent learning skills. The findings show that digital technologies help learners plan their study, choose suitable materials, monitor their progress, and become more motivated in language learning. At the same time, the effective use of digital tools requires teacher guidance, digital literacy, and a balanced approach. The article concludes that digital tools can significantly contribute to the formation of autonomous, active, and responsible English language learners.
