DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS THROUGH THE ADOPTION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN UZBEKISTAN

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping economic systems, business models, and national competitiveness worldwide. As Uzbekistan accelerates its digital transformation agenda, AI adoption presents significant opportunities to enhance productivity, innovation, and economic efficiency. This study investigates the relationship between AI adoption, digital transformation, and economic competitiveness in Uzbekistan through a conceptual and literature-based analysis. The research employs qualitative methodology based on systematic review and comparative analysis of recent scholarly literature. Findings suggest that AI contributes to competitiveness by improving operational efficiency, enabling data-driven decision-making, fostering innovation, and supporting the development of digital ecosystems. However, challenges including infrastructure limitations, skills shortages, regulatory gaps, and investment constraints may hinder AI diffusion. The study proposes a framework for enhancing AI-driven competitiveness through strategic investments in human capital, digital infrastructure, and innovation policies. The results provide practical implications for policymakers, businesses, and educational institutions seeking to strengthen Uzbekistan's position in the digital economy.
