Abstract

Nowadays, improving the methodology of teaching English has become one of the most important directions in the education system. This article analyzes the significance of modern pedagogical approaches, innovative methods, and interactive technologies used in teaching English to students. During the study, special attention is given to the role of such methods as the communicative approach, “K-W-L” (Know–Want to Know–Learned), “Quick Answers,” “Pantomime,” educational games, cartoons, songs, and poems in enhancing students’ motivation for language learning and developing their communicative competence. In addition, effective ways of developing the four essential language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—are discussed. The findings of the research indicate that the use of innovative and student-centered methods plays a significant role in improving the quality of education, fostering independent thinking, and increasing the effectiveness of practical foreign language acquisition. The study also provides scientific and practical recommendations for further improving the process of teaching English in higher education institutions
