ISLAM – A RELIGION THAT CALLS FOR PEACE AND UNITY

Abstract

This article analyzes Quranic verses, prophetic traditions (hadiths), and the scholarly views aimed at ensuring peace and harmony in society. It demonstrates to those who currently interpret Islam as a religion of unrest and subversion that all the sacred sources of Islam call for peace and solidarity. Islam, which encourages the spreading of the word “peace” (السلام) even in simple daily mutual greetings, calls for tolerant relations not only with Muslims but also with non-Muslims. The article highlights, based on evidence, that Muslims must resolve societal problems through mutual consultation.
