Abstract

This article analyzes new types of cyberattacks emerging as a result of the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and examines effective protection mechanisms against them. Today, Artificial Intelligence has become not only a powerful defensive tool but also a technology actively exploited by cybercriminals. In particular, AI-generated phishing emails, fraud through deepfake technology, adaptive malware, and intelligent botnet networks represent some of the most significant modern cyber threats. The paper discusses the operating mechanisms of AI-based cyberattacks, their level of risk, and their impact on real-world sectors. Furthermore, modern defense approaches—including machine learning, anomaly detection systems, the Zero Trust security model, and multi-factor authentication—are scientifically explained and evaluated. The findings of the study demonstrate that a comprehensive approach is essential to ensure the secure and effective use of Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity
