BEYOND THE ZOOM GLARE: MASTERING THE "FLIPPED LIVE" METHOD FOR ONLINE TEACHING

The swiftness with which emergency remote teaching was introduced during the global pandemic revealed the limitations of standard pedagogical methods of lecturing when moved to a digital format. The "Flipped Live" Method—is presented in this article as an organized educational method that fights against cognitive overload, passivity and "Zoom fatigue", while ensuring student engagement and retention of knowledge. Content that normally would have been presented in a synchronous lecture is replaced by asynchronous short videos, making lectures more interactive and allowing the professor to employ the time in a more productive way. The introduction of the Entry Ticket before the session, 4-quadrant structure during the lecture, and the application exercise after the lecture make teaching in a virtual format effective.
