Central Asia has emerged as one of the most dynamic tourism regions in the world, with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan each pursuing distinct marketing strategies to capture growing international demand. This article presents a comparative analysis of the tourism marketing approaches used by these three destinations, drawing on recent statistical data, national tourism strategy documents, and current industry reporting. The analysis finds that Uzbekistan has pursued an integrated, heritage-centred branding strategy built around the Great Silk Road narrative, reinforced by visa liberalization and event-based digital campaigns, and has achieved the fastest arrival growth in the region. Kazakhstan has adopted a market-segmented, partnership-driven model targeting high-value long-haul markets such as China, India, and the Gulf states through platform-specific digital campaigns and airline cooperation, but continues to be constrained by a diffuse national brand identity. Kyrgyzstan has relied on a grassroots, community-based and adventure-tourism positioning, strong in niche international recognition but limited by smaller institutional marketing budgets. The article concludes that convergence around digital-first, experience-based marketing is occurring across the region, while competitive differentiation increasingly depends on the coherence of national branding and the depth of institutional coordination rather than on natural or cultural endowment alone.
