Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of stable expressions associated with food and cooking processes, which occupy a special place in the phraseological layer of the Uzbek language. Specifically, the paper analyzes the phraseologisms “chuchvarani xom  sanamoq” (to count uncooked chuchvara), “chalpak  qilmoq” (to make chalpak), “shoʻriga shoʻrva toʻkilmoq” (soup spilled into one’s lot), and “ogʻzidagi  oshni  oldirmoq” (to lose the osh in one’s mouth), illustrating the Uzbek people’s worldview, everyday culture, and perceptions of social justice. The article examines not only the lexical-semantic features of these idioms but also the national-mental values underpinning their deep structure.
